The YMCA of Greater Wichita’s “Party for a Purpose” held on Saturday, August 20th at the Century II Exhibition Hall was a huge success! The event drew approximately 500 attendees. Guests were served a scrumptious dinner that included a fresh, green salad; bacon-wrapped, ground steak; a chicken soufflé; a vegetable, pasta medley; new potatoes and dessert.

Dinner was followed with an auction program mingled with entertainment led by Lukas and Careth from B98. The live auction, conducted by Select Homes Team Real Estate VIVs (Very Important Volunteers), grossed $10,600. Items auctioned off by Select Homes’ auctioneer, Mike King, comprised of a Cybex treadmill with television, liquor to “stock the bar”, a vacation to Miami, a “party of the year” with Flashpoint the Band, a Cybex Bravo Pro, weight-lifting machine, and a one-carat, round, loose diamond. The silent auction contained 77 items with a collection ranging from a “Grillin’” package to a date night with a one-night stay at the Hyatt Regency, dinner for two at River City Brewery, and two tickets to see Blake Shelton.

Many guests dressed like their favorite rock star from the 60s through the 80s. Several grooved to the YMCA and lined danced to many popular songs from the 80’s. Select Homes Team Real Estate VIVs are already looking forward to next year! We hope that you will join us!
