As we shared in a recent post, Select Homes’ very own Steve Wilbur has been nominated as the Wichita Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Man of the Year. That fundraising campaign formally kicked off last night– we’re off to the races!
How the Campaign Works
There are fifteen candidates competing for this year’s title. Each candidate is given ten weeks to earn as many dollars as they can for the cause. It is time for the candidates and their committees to come up with creative ways to raise funds. Each dollar will count as a vote for the candidate while also bringing us a dollar closer towards a cure!
Select Homes Team Real Estate’s very own, Steve Wilbur, is one of the fifteen candidates. You can learn more about his nomination and candidacy here.
The Campaign Begins!
Friday, March 31st, 2016 marked the beginning of the 2016 LLS of Wichita’s “Man and Woman of the Year” campaign. This event is held annually in an effort to raise funds for the fight against blood cancers. Last night’s kick-off was held at the Wichita Marriott on Corporate Hills Drive.
Unfortunately, due to a previous engagement, Steve was unable to attend last night’s kick-off. His committee, however, made sure that he was well-represented. Evie, the LLS “2016 Girl of the Year”, had great fun cutting the rug on the dance floor with a picture of Steve. Steve appeared in many other photo opportunities as well. Everyone on the committee enjoyed being at the event on Steve’s behalf. As emphasized by LLS, this event is not just about raising funds, but it is about having a good time together while doing it! Steve Wilbur and his committee are off to a great start!
