To properly prepare your home for the market, I have four simple tips you can follow.
Here are four tips you can follow to properly prepare your home for the market before you list it.
First, update your home’s exterior. This includes making sure your landscaping is prepared and your home’s curb appeal is in tiptop shape.
Second, check your HVAC system. This is one of the main things buyers look at, so I recommend having a service technician inspect it before you put your home on the market so it’s clean and fully functional.
Third, make sure your floors are adequate. Make sure your carpets run the same color throughout the home and don’t look pieced together. If you have hardwood floors, it might be a good idea to have someone inspect them with you to make sure they not only need to be cleaned, but also possibly waxed and/or polished.
Lastly, make sure the plumbing and electrical systems are in good shape. Verify that you don’t have any known leaks around your faucets, showers, or tubs and there is no corrosion showing around the fixtures. If you notice any plugins, outlets, or other electrical components not working, have an electrician come to your home and check them out.
